Zumba dance is a Latino-music inspired dance workout originating in Colombia in 1990’s– a form of interval-cardo workout. It’s easy to follow, doesn’t require a partner. It’s for anyone who wants to improve their overall mental and physical fitness in a fun way. It is more than a workout. It goes deeper; beyond shaking toxins out, aiding lymphatic drainage and sculping a cuter bootie, it also connects us back to our divine spirit.

Hi, I’m Fatima Alvarado, and I come from Venezuela, a vibrant and colourful country where life itself is a dance. From the moment I was in my mother's womb, music and dance have been a part of me. I grew up with it, from kindergarten performances to community celebrations, always moving to the rhythm of my country’s vibrant soul.
But like many, life led me to a place where I had to make choices. At 17, I had to put aside my passion for dance to focus on serious responsibilities, juggling college and work to support my family. Years later, I found myself in Ireland—a place of stunning beauty and warmth, made more special by its people. Yet, even in this new home, I longed for the part of me that was left behind—the joy of dance, the connection to my roots and the pure expression of being alive.
Determined to reclaim that part of myself, I trained and became a certified Zumba Instructor. It was supposed to be easy. I had been dancing all my life, right? But learning to teach was like relearning to walk—a step forward, then back, counting beats, left, right, getting tangled in the technicalities. But that’s the beauty of it. Who cares if it’s not perfect? I certainly don’t. And that’s what my classes are about.
In my classes, it’s not about getting every move right; it’s about getting YOU right. I keep the steps simple because the true goal is connection—with your body, your rhythm, your spirit. We live in a world that has taught us to be self-conscious, to doubt, to feel ashamed of our own movements. How did we get here? It doesn’t matter. What matters is how we move forward together.
My mission is to help you shed expectations, let go of judgments, and just move.
I want you to feel the energy of joy bubbling up inside, the freedom to be your most authentic self. We’re in this together, sharing the journey of healing, connection, and rediscovering the simple pleasure of movement. This is about joy, love, and fun—a chance to reconnect with yourself and with the people around you.
Let’s dance, laugh, and let our spirits shine.
